What causes Repetitive Strain Injuries (RSI)?

RSI is caused, or made worse, by working conditions which demand awkward or repeated movements, especially if you need to apply pressure as well. One example of this is wringing out a cloth, whereby you need to twist your wrists and arms whilst squeezing the cloth tightly. If these movements were to be repeated frequently this would cause your hands and wrists to be strained and you would experience pain and numbness.

The condition can result from a wide range of jobs and working environments but will always involve repetition.
