Asbestos appeal kicks off

asbestos_picture.jpgAxa, Aviva, RSA and Zurich’s appeal against the Outer Court of Session’s decision to reject their judicial review of the Damages (Asbestos-Related Conditions) (Scotland) Bill began earlier this week. The hearing, which takes place at the Inner Court of Sessions, comes after the quartet lodged its appeal in January. The Bill overturned a House of Lords ruling that declared pleural plaques are not a compensatable condition.
